David Song 20 - Three Mighty Men Armed with Bows
(2 Samuel 23)

1. Three mighty men armed with bows,
Could use them left or right;
Hurling stones to and fro, they knew well how to fight.
Separated unto David; in the wilderness gath'ring -
Men of might, men of war — fit for battle they were.
They ran to the fight - and the Lord was with them.
Enemies were afraid, o'er and o'er and o'er again!

2. Thirty mighty men fought for God;
Followed David as his honor squad.
Three were most notably fighting unceasingly.
Jashobeam fought eight hundred;
Shammah stood alone when others fled.
Eleazar fought so long, to the sword his hand froze.
'Twas the Lord, 'twas the Lord
Who was strengthening them.
T'was the Lord, almighty Lord delivering them.

3. O'er the three was Abishai;
Their commander, God's ally.
His brother Joab see: captain of the army.
Chief or bodyguards, Benaiah!
Everyone he did inspire!
In a pit in the snow, fought a lion, it's so!
Honoring, honoring God and David were they.
