David Song 15 - Round and Round the Mountain (1 Samuel 24:3-12) |
1. Round and round the mountain, David with his men; Saul's three thousand choice men, chasing after them. Hiding deeply in a cave don't make a peep! Saul came in to cover his feet. 2. David's men said, clobber now your enemy! Pounce on him before he knows you're here, quickly! I can't hurt him, but I will secretly Cut the corner of his coat so sneakily! Bridge Part One: Troubled feelings came to David's heart; He should not have cut that coat apart. God forbid that I should stretch My hand against God's anointed, Saul the king! Bridge, Part Two: Saul rose up and went out on his way. David followed him and then did say: I could have harmed you; you're hunting me, But let God be the judge in everything! 3. My hand will not be against you e'er again. Saul said, You're more righteous than I have been, For you have repaid me with good alway. May the Lord reward you, David, from this day.
