Acts Song #20 - In The Inner Jail. (tune: Leaning on the Everlasting Arms) Paul and Silas were put in prison for speaking the good news of Jesus. At midnight, they rejoiced with singing and praises! |
1. In the inner jail, behind bar and rail, Paul and Silas had been locked away. It was twelve at night, their feet shackled tight, Paul and Silas had begun to pray. Praying, singing, Paul and Silas sang to God that night. Prisoners, lis'ning to those brothers sing with all their might! 2. Suddenly a quake, prison floor did shake, Doors swung open, all the bonds did fall! "Oh", the jailer feared, "They've run out of here!" But then to the jailer Paul did call: "Fear not, jailer, do no harm!" "Then what must I do?" "Believe on Jesus: you'll be saved and your household, too!" Alternate chorus #1: Praying, praying, and singing, singing, yes, Paul and Silas sang to God that night, and there were Pris'ners, prisoners, lis'ning, listening To those brothers sing with all their might. Alternate chorus #2: Fear not, fear not, jailer, fear not! Do no harm! Then what must I do? Well, simply, Believe Jesus! Believe Jesus! You'll be saved and your household, too! |
