Acts Song #12 - Stephen. (tune: sit down, servant)
Stephen faithfully and courageously spoke about Jesus, even though it made some people angry.

1. Stephen, full of power and grace,
Spoke with wisdom and an angel's face.
Some were jealous; they just plain lied,
But the high priest said, Stephen, tell your side.

2. Stephen told them the history:
From Abraham to Moses, satisfactorily.
David and Solomon, the temple and the law;
And Jesus, the one that they were waiting for.

3. They rushed and yelled and gnashed their teeth and covered their ears!
But Stephen looked to heaven, where Christ appears.
Stephen called upon the Lord, as they threw stones at him;
Said: receive my Spirit, don't hold this against them.

4. The disciples lamented, they took him away;
A great persecution began that day.
Judea and Samaria, they scattered there,
And announced the gospel everywhere.
