JACOB #2 (Lesson 7-R, Allison's tape) |
1. Jacob lost his confidence, on God he would depend, But it would take much time for God to transform him. God was shepherding him through all the sweat and tears. When uncle Laban made him work for all those twenty years. That was quite a hardshipself-confidence to slay. But Jacob still was very strong in getting his own way 2. While heading back to Canaan, and fearing for his life. A man (who was the Lord) came and wrestled him all night. Jacob still had his strength, so he refused to give. The Lord would have to touch his thigh so he'd forever limp. Jacob would not let go, 'till he was blessed by God. His name was changed to Israel"a wrestler with God." 3. 'Twas in these older years Jacob would answer God's call. He was now dependent on God to be his all. You, dear children, must learn to depend on Him always. His care and shepherding are with you throughout all your days. Keep a soft heart towards HimHe will outpour His grace. Then one day, just like Jacob, you may meet God "face to face". |
